Instructional Modality
Rider offers courses in different formats or instructional modality. Your instructor will adhere to the format listed as a requirement for the course.
Standard Classroom (STN)
Class meets in person on the specified day(s) and times.
Online Asynchronous (NOL)
There are no online meeting times, and course content is available to learners 24/7 via Canvas. Any synchronous meetings offered by the instructor in this modality must be optional.
Online Synchronous (MOL)
Class meets on Zoom or other video meeting platforms. Accordingly, meeting times - but not classroom spaces – are reserved for the course and are listed in Course Section Search.
Hybrid Asynchronous (HYN)
Blends in-person class sessions on the specified day(s) and times with online asynchronous content. Requires at least 50% of the contact hours spent on in person class meetings.
Hybrid Synchronous (HYM)
Blends in-person class sessions on the specified day(s) and times with synchronous online meetings. Requires at least 50% of the contact hours spent on in person class meetings.
Exec Hybrid Asynchronous (HYE)
Blends in-person class sessions on the specified day(s) and times with online asynchronous content. Meets in person fewer than 50% of the course contact hours.
Exec Hybrid Synchronous (HYS)
Blends in-person class sessions on the specified day(s) and times with synchronous online meetings. Meets in person fewer than 50% of the course contact hours.
