As a student in the radio and podcasting program, you’ll develop a rich background in radio broadcasting, podcasting and other forms of media through theory-based and hands-on coursework in audio production, writing, media fundamentals and more.
As a graduate of our program, you’ll be prepared to reinvent radio broadcasting of the future, while learning the dynamic field of podcasting. You’ll be equipped with the skills and technical knowledge necessary to find success in radio broadcasting, podcasting and/or related media fields.
Rider’s state-of-the-art digital broadcast studio, the home of 107.7 The Bronc, provides you access to a multifaceted education and robust, engaged learning opportunities without leaving campus. This comprehensive media environment has consolidated student production and editing facilities for radio, podcasting, journalism, graphic design, public relations and game design.
Bringing the studios together creates a collaborative space for students to exercise their skills on the same tools used by professionals and become well-versed in the fast-changing broadcast industry.

Hone your broadcasting, podcasting, engineering, management skills, and event planning while learning about the current field of radio and podcasting. Connect with like-minded students as a member of the 107.7 The Bronc team. This amazing opportunity not only allows you to gain valuable experience in radio and podcasting but also introduces you to related skills including marketing, branding, event planning and advertising through the various station-supported contests and events held annually.
Rider's Department of Communication, Journalism, and Media offers one of the most extensive communication internship programs anywhere. Because Rider is located in a media-rich corridor densely populated with communication outlets as well as major corporations and nonprofit organizations. Opportunities usually outnumber available students. Students also have the opportunity to spend a semester in Los Angeles to study and intern with industry professionals while living full-time in the heart of Hollywood's entertainment industry.
I’m amazed when I look back at all the hands-on experience, radio shows and internships I had. Rider gave me the freedom to experiment, to explore and to learn.
