Time it took for Theresa to land her first job after graduation.
Theresa held an internship with the EFK Group (a full-service advertising agency) during her junior year, where she assisted event planners on the Nike Primetime Tour. As a senior, she interned as an assistant to custom-made men鈥檚 fashion designer Stephen Seo, whose suits were showcased as the official clothing designer on HBO鈥檚 Entourage.
鈥淟awrenceville is my hometown so my choice was an easy one,鈥 said Theresa, noting that the campus felt small and large at the same time. 鈥淚 especially appreciated the small classrooms, because I received the one-on-one attention I wanted, particularly in math.鈥
It鈥檚 important to give back and help your community. Rider gave me many opportunities to volunteer and help those who may be less fortunate.
Theresa credits her career growth to her business studies at Rider. 鈥淭he Norm Brodsky College of Business taught me real-life skills that I would need in the professional world,鈥 Theresa said. 鈥淎ll the role playing and writing exercises we did helped shaped my confidence and provided me with the necessary skills to land a job during a tough economy.鈥 Theresa currently works on the Bristol Myers Squibb account for Johnson Controls, a global diversified technology and industrial company. She鈥檚 involved in client relationship management, branding and equity, workflow and much more 鈥 all putting her Rider skills to good use.
As a fundraising board member for the non-profit organization, UrbanPromise Trenton, Theresa continues to give back. 鈥淎lthough maintaining a good GPA and networking while you鈥檙e in college is very important, it鈥檚 also important to give back and help your community. Rider gave me many opportunities to volunteer and help those who may be less fortunate. It鈥檚 something I鈥檝e become very passionate about and will never stop doing,鈥 Theresa said.
