Relay for Life, the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, returns to С����Ƶ in person this spring for the first time since 2019. This year’s event will be held outside on Rider’s Campus Mall on April 2 from 5 to 11 p.m. It is open to alumni and the general public, in addition to students, faculty and staff. 

Hundreds of thousands of dollars has been raised at Rider’s Relay for Life events since 2009 to help eliminate cancer as a major health problem. 

This year’s Disney-inspired theme, “Once upon a cure,” will coincide with a move outdoors. Past events have typically been held inside the Student Recreation Center. This year, participants will complete laps around the Campus Mall. Donations to sponsor laps .

This year, team-decorated campsites will dot the Campus Mall as music plays and performances take place. A panel of judges will award prizes during a . 

“Cancer has touched so many of our lives, and this event is a great opportunity to join survivors, caregivers, volunteers and other participants who believe in a future free of cancer,” says Joan Liptrot, Rider’s director of service and civic engagement. 

For 35 years, communities across the world have come together to honor loved ones and take action through Relay for Life.  It is the largest peer-to-peer fundraising event dedicated to saving lives from cancer. Funds raised through Relay For Life directly support breakthrough research, 24/7 support for cancer patients, access to lifesaving screenings and more.
