Westminster Choir and Westminster Concert Bell Choir head west and south.
The Westminster Choir and the Westminster Concert Bell Choir will begin 2019 with 16 performances in six states before they return to Princeton to begin classes.
The Westminster Choir and Joe Miller will travel to Texas and Oklahoma, where they will present a program titled 鈥淗alf Acre鈥 in Houston, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Dallas, Fort Worth and Oklahoma City. Their program takes its title from Dan Mess茅's lyrical song Half Acre and includes choral masterworks ranging from Claudio Monteverdi鈥檚 Hor che鈥檒 chiel e la terra to Ted Hearne鈥檚 thought-provoking Consent to 膾riks E拧envalds鈥 evocative Long Road, as well as American folk songs and spirituals. to a podcast of Joe Miller discussing the tour program with Marjorie Herman.
In addition to their concerts, the ensemble and Dr. Miller will lead eight workshops in high schools with outstanding choral programs. A complete Westminster Choir tour schedule is here.
The Westminster Concert Bell Choir and Kathleen Ebling Shaw 鈥84 will leave Princeton on Sunday, January 13 and travel by bus along the East Coast, performing 10 concerts in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. Their program, titled 鈥淭he Four Seasons,鈥 includes music representing the sounds of each season. Ringing on the world's largest range of handbells and Choirchime庐 Instruments, the choir performs original works, transcriptions of light classics, hymn tunes and some pop favorites.
