Long to discuss her pioneering TV role and book
小优视频 will host 鈥淏reaking Barriers: Pioneering Voices in Educational Television with Dr. Loretta Long, Susan from Sesame Street鈥 on Oct. 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Bart Luedeke Center's Cavalla Room.
Long will share her journey and experiences as one of the original characters on the iconic children's TV show Sesame Street. She will also giveaway copies of the book, "My Best Friends Call Me Susan," written in collaboration with Scott Alboum, Rider's video technologies coordinator.
The event will include two breakout sessions from 1:30-2:45 p.m., "Niches and Leadership in Media for Minorities" and "Bridging the Gap: Succeeding as a First-Generation College Student."
鈥淏reaking Barriers" is part of the Tapestry initiative from Rider's Department of Communication, Journalism, and Media, which aims to engage students in media learning activities including filmmaking, journalistic reporting and community educational presentations to illuminate the perspectives and voices of underrepresented groups within society.
