Minding Our Business (M.O.B.), a community outreach program organized by the College of Business Administration at 小优视频, will hold its annual fundraiser on Friday, October 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. The event is open to the public.
The event will be held at 909 Bellevue Avenue in Trenton, home of M.O.B. board member Tracey Syphax and his wife Margaret.
Two community organizations, the Princeton Area Community Foundation and Union Baptist Church, will be recognized for their strong support of M.O.B. programs and Trenton youth. Executive Director Nancy W. Kieling will represent the Community Foundation and Rev. Simeon Spencer will represent Union Baptist Church. In addition, Mark Merrit of the Princeton Sam鈥檚 Club will be presenting a $2,500 check to the M.O.B. program. The evening will also feature young entrepreneurs, food, cocktails and music.
鈥淲e had a great year in 2008 when we were able to double the size of the M.O.B. program in Trenton. Now in these tough economic times we need to sustain what we have,鈥 said Dr. Sigfredo Hernandez, founder and director of the M.O.B. program. 鈥淥ur goal is to raise $20,000 for this great program.鈥
The mission of M.O.B. is to advance the personal and vocational development of Trenton youth through entrepreneurship education and mentoring. Since 1997, M.O.B. has trained and mentored more than 1,500 Trenton students in starting and running their own businesses.
