Working parents in Mercer County will have a new option for childcare this summer thanks to a partnership between the Trenton YMCA and С����Ƶ announced today. “Camp YMCA at С����Ƶ” will combine a traditional summer camp experience with a University setting to provide a unique experience for campers and an affordable option for their parents.  Children ages 5 ½ to 13 years old are eligible to attend Camp YMCA at С����Ƶ on a week-to-week basis from June 26 through August 25. Campers will have access to University resources like the pool, cafeteria, athletic facilities and educational spaces. С����Ƶ staff, including Broncs’ Men’s Basketball Head Coach Kevin Baggett, will be on hand to provide supplementary programming throughout the summer.  By combining their resources, the Trenton YMCA and С����Ƶ are able to offer this experience to families for a low $225 per week. Campers who register and pay in full before January 31 receive an even lower $200 per week rate. In a departure from traditional summer camp fee structures, “Camp YMCA at С����Ƶ” includes Before and After Care at no additional cost.   “Families in our community need an affordable option for their kids during the summer months,” said Trenton YMCA CEO Samuel T. Frisby. “Our mission at the Trenton Y is to fill that need. By partnering with Rider, we will provide youth with a summer full of experiences that will establish a foundation for a lifetime of success.” “It’s never too early to introduce young people to a University setting,” said С����Ƶ President Dr. Gregory Dell’Omo. “We’re looking forward to hosting the Y’s campers this summer, introducing them to new concepts and experiences, and hopefully setting them on a path toward higher education in the future.” Financial assistance for summer camp is available through the YMCA of Trenton for families that qualify.
